Rings!

image

Hey guys! I love rings and I’ve been in need of some new storage for them. So when I went to Martha’s Vineyard this summer I picked up this cute little ring dish.

image

I love the colors and how it’s all crystal-y.

image

Now and can spread out my rings and it’s much easier to see all of them in a shallow dish.

image

The midi ring on my middle finger is a ring I got while I was in the DR. It’s my first midi ring and I really love it. It super awesome because you can turn the ring inside out and on the other side instead of the pretty blue stone there’s a deep amber one. Hope you like it!

Ciaté Caviar Manicure

Today I wanted to try out a trend that has been going for a while now- caviar nails.

image

I think its a fun and very different look. It also looks kinda difficult but really it’s pretty simple.
The colors that came in my kit are Lemon Fizz and Loop the Loop.

image

The pearls are a mix of fuchsia, royal blue, gold, and clear pearls. Yellow isn’t my favorite color but I really like it in this color scheme.

image

To apply the pearls all you have to do is pour some over your nail after a second coat of polish. It seems like it would be messy but if you’re careful and use the tray provided then you’ll be fine. An alternative to pouring the pearls right onto you nail is to dip your nail into the pearls instead.

image

First I poured some pearls into the tray and then gathered then into one corner. I think dipping your nail is actually less messy and gets the sides of your nail covered better.

Enjoy the weekend!

DIY Pleather Jacket

Hey guys! Every summer brings new DIY projects and this summer is no exception. About two years ago I bought this pleather jacket from Forever 21.

image

image

It’s a bronzy-brown color which is nice but I feel like black suits my style better. I found that you can just dye it with fabric dye. I watched this video and everything and the woman in the video was so happy with the finished project. So I was like this seems easy and if it work for her than it should for me. Well that was a LIE. I don’t know what kind of pleather the woman used but mine didn’t even absorb the dye a little bit. I was so upset and I told my friend about it. She suggested that I use shoe polish and I was like pprshhheww mind blown. So that’s what I did and it doesn’t rub off or anything.

image

I used this Instant Wax Shine by Kiwi. I also used painters tape to cover the zippers and buttons on my jacket.

image

I started off laying my jacket face down on a tarp.

image

The shoe polish has a foam applicator that gets into crevices while covering large areas. I covered my jacket in sections that way it could dry better. This process is a little time consuming but that’s not a problem when you’re watching shark week.

image

The whole thing took me 3ish hours accounting for the time it took to dry.

image

I’m really happy how it turned out.

image

It’s kinda hard to tell in this picture but the fabric in between the zipper is the original brown. It really only took one coat with some touch up here and there. Tell me what you think!

Lets Get Fruity!

Hey guys! So for my birthday my friend gave me these really cool nail embellishments things.

image

I think the little fruits are so cute! This kit by Cina includes orange, lemon, lime, strawberry, banana, watermelon, apple, kiwi, starfuit, and dragonfruit decals. It also comes with a wooden stick to help you position the fruit on your nails.

image

image

To apply the decals I put a coat of clear nail polish on and then stuck on one of the decals. Then I sealed the whole thing with another coat of clear polish. The directions say to use this wet binder but how was I supposed to know I need that if it was not indicated on the package.

image

image

These embellishments are really fun and cute. My only problem is that there more of a one day thing. When I woke up today a few of the fruit had fell off. I suggest if you have a big event or something special just paint your nails the day of. Then afterwards you can remove your polish because at the end of the day your probably going to be tired of always looking down to see if your nails are still intact. Anyway I hope you like it!

Daenerys Hair

I don’t watch Game of Thrones but everyone I’ve talked to says that its really good. So the other day my cousins were over and I was on pinterest. I found this picture I was like look how cool this is!

image

My cousins were like oh that’s Daenerys’ hair. I was just like ok I don’t really know what/who that is. Anyway I think this hairstyle is really pretty and intricate. And then just randomly I was like you know what I can do this. So this is what I did on one of my cousins hair.

image

image

image

The pictures aren’t so good but yea so I did that. It’s just a bunch of 4 strand braids. It took a lot of bobby pins and hair ties. I don’t think this is a hairstyle that you can just wear around but it’s still really pretty.

Tees By Tina

Hey guys! So I just came back from a long weekend in Martha’s Vineyard. I don’t think I’ve ever eaten so much seafood and ice cream before in my life! I really need to go for a run. Luckily my family and I rented bikes so I got a little bit of exercise while I was away. I stayed in Edgartown which had a really nice downtown area (actually all the towns in MV are really cute). One of the stores there was Tees By Tina. The store features a number of fitted tops, dresses, skirts, and bandeaus. They have a variety of colors and patterns the choose from.

All the styles come in one size fits most, which means that anyone can look good in Tees By Tina. I got a textured tank top- the Lattice Tank in Royal Purple.

Their tank tops and camis work great for layering.

I also really like their dresses. They make their dress kinda long so that they can accommodate everyone. The lady at the store told me that you can just cut off however much you want from the bottom and the fabric just rolls up so you don’t have to do any hemming.

Tees By Tina have been featured in many magazines. Many celebrities have been spotted in these Tees as well. Their dresses also work great for maternity dresses too! And after your pregnancy you can still wear it. They have some great stuff. You can check out Tees By Tina by clicking here.

The DR!

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! If you were wondering why I was lacking to post last week, which you probably weren’t, I was in the Dominican Republic.

My beautiful picture

I went on a service trip so it wasn’t a full on vacation but it still was so amazing. I cleaned up a lot of trash and helped build an aqueduct and planted mangroves. I also talked to natives who were trying to learn English. It felt really good to know that I made a difference even if it was only small in the grand scheme of things. While I was there everyone was so welcoming and friendly. It just shows how different our cultures are. Any day on the street if you wave to someone 9 times out of 10 they’ll wave back with a big smile on their face. Just think if you did that in NYC, people would think that your crazy. These people have so little but they make the most of it and I think that’s really admirable.

Aside from the service I went to some beaches and caves. One  of the beaches was really secluded because to get to it, you have to either hike or horseback ride. I also went to a waterfall.

It was really cool because the water was really shallow around the waterfall and you could swim right below it.

Going on service trips as apposed to vacations is so much more rewarding. Once you step out of the resort you can get a whole new perspective of the country. It’s easier to absorb the culture if you stay outside a resort. Overall this trip will be an experience that I’ll never forget.

Stairs

On Stumble Upon (a leading cause of my procrastination) I found a collection if cool and unsual stairs. They all look really fun but also kinda dangerous. Would you have these in your house? What do you think?

I’m also going away for a little bit so I won’t be posting for a while. I’m going on a service trip to0 the DR and I’m so excited! I hope you are enjoying your summer, I know I am!

Outfits

Hey guys! I haven’t really been posting a lot so sorry about that. Even though summer has started I’ve still been busy but some how I can still fit in my TV shows. Here are two outfits I like from TV shows.

Cat Deeley- So You Think You Can Dance (E. 6)

1006-001-dance-meet-the-top-20_735_509

I love this romper. I think it would make a great party outfit and turn a lot of heads. Even though I will never(I’m not coordinated enough) to be a dancer, I absolutely love this show. I think the dances are so cool and beautiful.

Holland Roden- Teen Wolf (E. 4)

2013-06-28 21.42.19-1 2013-06-28 21.42.26-1

I’ve always thought leather skirts were cool but I always thought that they’re too facy for  daytime. Well, I was proved wrong and Holland Roden looks really awesome in her skirt. I also think her shirt is really cute with the peter pan collar and the little dogs on it. And yes, I know what you’re thinking… I watch Teen Wolf, yes. It sounds terribly awful like some sort of bad take on only Team Jacob. It’s nothing like that, it has LOTS of blood, drama, suspence, and all the stuff that makes a good show. So yea…
